Je me demande si on perd de la puissance en enfourchant nos vélos sans tenir aucunement compte de l'écartement des pédales ?
Parce qu'on a tous des bassins plus ou moins larges ou étroits, et qu'à vélo équivalent, on a fatalement des jambes qui pédalent plus en ligne verticale, et d'autres qui pédalent plus en biais...
Je pense être plutôt maigre du Q, et de fait, en m'observant du haut en train de rouler, j'ai bien l'impression que mes jambes "partent" vers l'extérieur, plutôt qu'elles n'appuient bien en verticalité.

Entre mes deux vélos de route, l'un en triple avec 5mm d'écart en plus (pédales shimano VTT) par rapport à l'autre en compact (pédales shimano 105 5700), je ne sent pas de différences. Par contre quand je vois mon gamin de 5 ans sur son vélo Btwin, il doit avoir un QFactor de 10cm...

Quand j'ai monté pour la première fois les pédales BePro (capteur de puissance) sur mon route début Mars, j'ai monté les rondelles d'espacement fournies (ep.2mm). J'ai tout de suite senti que le Q factor avait augmenté, sans avoir besoin de mesurer quoique ce soit. Je me suis rhabitué à ce nouveau pédalage, et surtout je me suis forcé à ne plus avoir les genoux qui rasent le tube horizontal du cadre comme ils le faisaient avant. Depuis quelques semaines j'ai démonté les pédales, retiré les rondelles qui dans mon cas ne servaient à rien (pédalier ultegra 6600 avec les manivelles lisses, sans renfoncement au niveau du trou taraudé des pédales). J'ai également repositionné les cales sous les chaussures pour avoir le pied plus vers l'intérieur de la pédale et ainsi diminué le Q factor de 6-7mm je pense. J'ai tout de suite senti un gain de puissance, d'aisance (j'ai aussi calé de 5mm sous le pied gauche, décalé les appuis G/D pour cause de différence de longueur de fémurs/tibias, mais c'est un autre sujet...).

Je pense qu'on s'intéresse au Q-Factor quand on commence à avoir des soucis articulaires/tendineux. Pour le moment je touche du bois (j'ai aussi les genoux qui rasent le cadre ), donc je n'y fais pas spécialement attention. Faut dire aussi que j'ai le même type de pédalier/pédales (Sram GXP / Speedplay) depuis 2012.

Personnellement, je sens clairement une différence de sensation lorsque je passe d'un vélo à l'autre vu que j'alterne VTT, route, cyclocross avec quasiment à chaque fois une combinaison pédalier/pédales/chaussures différentes. Après, je mise justement sur cette variété de montures et de types de pratique qui permet de varier (un peu) la nature du geste effectué pour éviter la blessure.
Reste que par curiosité, je ferais bien une étude Shimano Bikefitting pour voir vers quelle valeur de Q Factor il me faudrait tendre.

Idem, mais difficile de faire autrement quand on jongle sur plusieurs vélos de pratiques différentes. Et comme toi, je pense au fond que c'est bénéfique.
